Royal Shepherd

The Royal Shepherd (RS) is the paramilitary wing of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria & Overseas, serving as a successor to the Boys’ Brigade.
It is widely acknowledged that many young people are drawn to youth organizations that offer appealing features such as uniforms and a regimental or paramilitary structure. These uniformed groups carry the benefit of immediate recognition, authority, and respect in society. This is why many youths join groups like the Boys’ Brigade, Girls’ Brigade, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, Red Cross, and Man O’ War, among others.
This trend also explains why various Christian denominations across Nigeria have established or incorporated disciplined, uniformed, regimental, or paramilitary-style youth movements within their congregations.
Following this commendable example, the Christ Apostolic Church, during the General Executive Council meeting at Babalola International Memorial Miracle Camp, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State, Wednesday, May 1st, 2002, unanimously decided to form a distinct paramilitary youth organization. This new group shall be known as the ‘ROYAL SHEPHERD’.
Royal Shepherd Anthem:
Royal Shepherds of Christ Apostolic Church
Marching as to war,
Stand for the Lord,
Let the Holy Spirit lead us
From victory unto victory.
Royal Shepherds,
Put on the garment of love,
Loyalty, honesty, and of prayer,
Let the word of wisdom fill your heart.
Give us strength to be good soldiers,
Oh Lord, help us.
