The Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, has officially inaugurated the Christ Apostolic Church Wondercity Zone in Ogolonto, Ikorodu, designating Pastor Emmanuel Adekunle Adebayo as its first Zonal Superintendent. The ceremony, held on Sunday, 22 September, 2024, at the Church Auditorium, coincided with the 50th birthday celebrations of both Pastor Adebayo and his wife, Evang. (Mrs.) Rebecca Olufunke Adebayo.
The event drew a large crowd, who came to express their appreciation and love for the couple. Pastor Adebayo’s extensive track record and the positive testimonies surrounding his ministry reflect his dedication to service since his spiritual rebirth.
Superintendent of the Akinyele region, Pastor S.A. Adedayo conducted the inauguration and induction, emphasizing the responsibilities outlined in the Bible for both the congregation and the new superintendent. In his sermon titled “Feed the Sheep,” Pastor Adedayo urged all ministers to accurately convey the word of God. He warned that failure to do so could lead to spiritual malnourishment among the faithful.
“A sheep that isn’t properly fed will appear unhealthy,” he stated, stressing the importance of nourishing the congregation with biblical teachings, preaching, prayer, evangelism, counseling, and correction. He referenced Ephesians 5:25, highlighting the need for ministers to love and care for the church, akin to Christ’s love for His followers.
Pastor Lawrence Akinloye, Superintendent of CAC Ikorodu DCC, praised Pastor Adebayo for his humility and hard work, encouraging him to remain committed to his new role.
The inauguration ceremony was lively, filled with music and dance, featuring performances by the Good Women Choir and the Zonal Choir. A special highlight was the presentation of a car gift to Pastor Adebayo and his wife from the Wondercity Zone, along with additional gifts from various church groups and individuals.
Pastor Adebayo expressed heartfelt gratitude to God and the church authority for entrusting him with this responsibility, vowing to fulfill his duties diligently.
In attendance were numerous church leaders, including Superintendent, CAC Ikorodu DCC, Pastor Lawrence Akinloye; Superintendent, CAC Life and Power Zone, Pastor Mich ‘Tunji Oladapo; Superintendent CAC Owutu Zone, Pastor Festus Oluwadele; all District Superintendents within the zone; alongside local dignitaries such as Hon. Sesan Dada, Aspiring Chairman of Ikorodu West L.C.D.A, and Chief O.Y.O. Fatola, Baale of Ogolonto Community.
