Christ Apostolic Church Somolu Olaleye Districts’ Coordinating Council (DCC) Headquarters was filled with excitement and joy on Sunday, 26 January, 2025, as the congregation welcomed the Regional Superintendent of Akinyele Region, Pastor S.A. Adedayo, for his official visit.
Superintendent of CAC Somolu Olaleye DCC, Pastor J.O Akinyomi led the warm reception, joined by District Superintendents including Pastor Olu-Philip of Jakande District, Pastor D.O. Adeniyi of Agiliti District, Pastor S. Bewaji of Ile Ayo Ejigbo District, and Pastor Olowolagba of Oke Ayo Abesan District.
The DCC Choir ministered in a song title ‘To mi’ (Lead Me), setting a reverent tone for the service. This was followed by Pastor Adedayo’s sermon, titled ‘Repentance From Sin’, where he addressed the congregation about the urgent need for repentance in today’s world.
“Repentance is not just a feeling, it is a change of heart and mind,” Pastor Adedayo stated. “It’s about turning away from our sinful ways and committing to a life that pleases God.”
Pastor Adedayo focused on several key areas where repentance is essential, including bribery, dishonesty, exploitation, immorality, embezzlement, fraud, and more. He urged the congregation to embrace true repentance, which involves not only acknowledging one’s wrongdoings but also feeling genuine sorrow and making a conscious decision to live in obedience to God.
“We cannot ignore the sin around us,” Pastor Adedayo continued. “We must examine our hearts and actions, turn away from those things that dishonor God, and walk in the righteousness He calls us to.”
Earlier in his opening remarks, Pastor Akinyomi had expressed his joy at hosting Pastor Adedayo, calling the visit a special occasion for the church. “This is a special moment for us, and we are grateful to have our father worship with us on the last Sunday of January,” Pastor Akinyomi shared with the congregation.
Pastor Akinyomi, along with the District Superintendents, guided Pastor Adedayo on a tour of the DCC Headquarters to see the Children’s Department, the DCC Admin Office, the Conference Room, and Faith Home, providing Pastor Adedayo with an insight into the church’s operations and activities.
